The Emergy Oil Story
From Vision to Reality
Emergy Oil's journey began with a vision to create an integrated energy company that could efficiently develop Gulf of Mexico resources while maximizing value through vertical integration. What started as a strategic acquisition has grown into a comprehensive energy solution provider with operations spanning the entire hydrocarbon value chain.
2000s - The Foundation
The roots of what would become Emergy Oil were established when entrepreneur Richard Blakey recognized the potential of underutilized assets in the Gulf of Mexico. Through his service company, he became involved with wells that had been abandoned due to infrastructure limitations, seeing an opportunity where others saw challenges.
Early Development
Richard Blakey and his partner Buckey, an attorney, acquired abandoned wells and began building the infrastructure necessary to support production. They established Emerald Gathering and Transmission LLC to hold the wells, Emerald Gathering and Transportation LLC to manage pipeline assets, and Offshore Contract Services LLC to provide operational support.
2023 - The Transformation
A new chapter began when a group of investors acquired the company through Ethan and Jett Operating LLC. The new leadership team restructured the organization under Emergy Oil LLC, maintaining the integrated operational model while implementing a strategic growth vision for the future.
Present Day
Today, Emergy Oil operates as a vertically integrated energy company with significant production assets in the Gulf of Mexico, an extensive pipeline network, specialized service capabilities, comprehensive logistics operations, and downstream petroleum product businesses. This integrated model creates operational efficiencies and value creation opportunities throughout the energy lifecycle.

Meet Our Executive Team
Benjamin Mitchell
Chief Executive Officer
Benjamin Mitchell joined Emergy Oil in 2023 as CEO, bringing over 20 years of oilfield operations experience. He has executed successful development programs across eight major U.S. horizontal plays and has extensive experience in exploration projects throughout the U.S. and overseas.
Mr. Mitchell began his career working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico and has held senior engineering and management positions at Bruin E&P, Sabine Oil and Gas, ConocoPhillips, and BJ Services. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
John Garner
Consulting Financial and Risk Advisor
John Garner brings over 38 years of C-level industry management experience to Emergy Oil. Before joining the company, he served as President of three insurance carriers and held board positions with nine carriers.
Most recently, Mr. Garner was EVP of Risk Theory, a specialty managing general underwriter. He previously served as CFO of Clearview Risk Holdings, where he liaised with private equity owners and managed a successful acquisition transaction. He began his career as an auditor at KPMG and graduated with a BBA from Baylor University.
Christopher Hollomon
EVP, Land & Technology
Christopher Hollomon has over 15 years of oil and gas experience, specializing in M&A Advisory and Audit through boutique consultancy. He has worked with super major and independent energy companies, retail and investment banks, and international law firms.
Prior to his consulting work, Mr. Hollomon led several smaller companies across multiple sectors from oilfield service to defense manufacturing and technology. He graduated with a BBA before pursuing graduate work, research, and publication at Mississippi State University.

James Debusk
Director of Operations
James Debusk brings over a decade of extensive experience in the energy sector, having previously served as a Lead Production Operator at Torrent Oil LLC, where he oversaw critical oil production operations in Port Lavaca, Texas. His deep expertise in field operations, safety protocols, and production efficiency has positioned him well for his new role as Director of Operations at Emergy Oil.
